Ratings Performers Site Features Show Quality Ease of Use Price and Value Overall

With a name like Webcams.com, expectations are pretty high for the site to provide a top-notch live cam experience.  Unfortunately, Webcams.com fails to deliver on our expectations.  While the site is well known for having a large cadre of very beautiful models, the features and functionality do not make for a very positive experience.  In this post we will explain the pros and cons of Webcams.com, but overall this site does not rank as one of our favorites.

Performers

Webcams.com has a large number of models working for them and you can expect to find an average of 300 – 400 performers online during peak times.  The majority of the performers are young females working alone and we did notice that most are very attractive. Members are able to quickly narrow down their choices based on categories such as hair color, ethnicity, and body type. There is also a good selection of couples, trannies, and fetish models that include bondage and pregnant women. If you are into gay sex you may be disappointed as the number of gay performers is fairly small.

Unlike many of their competitors, Webcams.com has a large number of performers on the site from North America. Most cam companies rely heavily on Eastern European and Asian performers, and while performers from those countries do exist at Webcams.com, you’ll find that there are many North American performers.  It is not unusual to meet performers from Los Angeles, Montreal or Chicago.  For U.S. viewers this may be a positive aspect of the site.

Site Features and Ease of Use

Webcams.com is a very simple site to use. The navigation is straight-forward without a lot of excess features to slow you down. You can view the models by list view or gallery view. For navigating particular categories, there is a drop down menu as well as an advanced search feature. Each performer has a thumbnail that is large and detailed so you can see if she has what you are looking for. Additionally, there is biographical information, pictures from previous shows, ratings and the performer’s schedule.  You can browse the thumbnails or narrow your search based on categories at the top of the screen, including a high definition category.

While browsing the site, some models may already be engaged in a show, in which case you can join directly for a free preview. This is a good way to check out the performer prior to investing any money. The actual shows on Webcams.com utilize common features such as audio, selectable window sizes, and cam to cam.  There are also several thousand videos from previous performances available in the galleries section, however, there is no search capability which makes it difficult to find videos of a specific performer.

Show Quality

We found this to be the most frustrating part of the Webcams.com experience. First, when going into a chat room it takes an inordinate amount of time for the video to display. On most other sites (such as Flirt4Free), video loads very quickly. Additionally, we frequently had the video close on us unexpectedly with an error message that said “Disconnected from Server”. We would then have to go back to performers bio page and reconnect.

Like many adult chat sites, most of the performers on Webcams.com either cannot or will not chat with you unless you have purchased credits. While we understand why some sites choose to do this, we feel that this is not good business, especially when the site promotes itself as providing FREE chat.

On the positive side, the shows we were able to watch had good video quality (with the exception of being disconnected from time to time). As mentioned previously, the video chat takes several seconds to load, but the quality is sharp and streams very well. Most of the performers have audio with their cams and the sound works fine. 

Price and Value

Don’t expect to be able to chat with any of the models until you register with the site. While you can enter their chat room and see them, they don’t respond to chats of guests. Registration is easy, but it does require a credit card, unlike many sites where registration is simply based on email verification. Premium nude chat is typically priced at $2.99 a minute. While not terribly expensive, it’s also not the cheapest cam site on the web. There also are very few budget cams ($1.49-$1.99 price range) that are common on many other sites.  Buying credits in bulk gets you additional free credits. You’ll receive 10 free credits for a $50 purchase, 25 free credits for a $75 purchase, and 35 free minutes for a $100 purchase. All in all, we don’t feel that Webcams.com offers the best value for your money.

Conclusion

While Webcams.com offers a nice interface and hot models, the features and performance of the site fall short of some of their competitors. There essentially is no free chat, the models ignore you until you have purchased credits, the video is frequently very slow to load, and we often were disconnected while in chat room. Because of these issues and the fact that Webcams.com is not particularly affordable, CamSite Advisor recommends checking other options before signing up with Webcams.com.
