Cam4 has a surprisingly large number of performers online, typically around 2000 during peak hours and 1400 during off-peak times. These performers are mostly amateurs working for tips and also trying to attract the most viewers so that they can win one of the monthly cash prizes that the site awards. As one might expect with this type of site, the quality of the performers varies greatly. Many are very average looking and often provide little in the way of a true show. Show Quality

The video quality on Cam4 is highly dependent on the particular performers. We found that many of them have low resolution cams and the video can be slow and grainy. Given that most of the performers are not professionals and are not broadcasting from a studio, this is to be expected. This is not to say that you can’t find some good quality cams, it is just that you will have to look a little harder than on traditional sexcam sites.

Cam4 does offer a premium site that uses the traditional model of pay-per-minute viewing as well as professional performers with good quality video. This site is called Cam4 Ultimate. Most models charge around 1000 – 1500 tokens for a 10 minute private show. However, most models focus on generating tips as their goal is to attract the most viewers so that they can win one of the Cam4 monthly contests. These contests pay out a total of $15,000 each month to the most popular cams on their site, including $2,000 each for top female, male, shemale, and couple cams. This incentivizes them to work their public chat rooms as opposed to going private.

With the basic membership your ability to interact (chat) with the performers is limited to only those cams with fewer than 50 other free members. You also have limited ability to direct shows as there are always others watching and chatting as well.
